Hi Kyle,

Thanks for the welcome :)

I'd be happy to tell you more about Collectors' Quest! I'm not sure what you want to know, and I don't want to post an advertorial or anything, so here's the quick overview...

It's a website devoted to collectors/collecting, with daily blogs/articles (I am one of five staff writers), videos (some licensed, other produced by the company), and a community for collectors where you can share your collections, meet other collectors, etc. (in your profile you can link to your blog/website etc.) Just a really good place to hang out with other collectors of all sorts of things. (This is .)

And they just started the Marketplace to sell (or trade) your items. Basically it's the same thing as listing any collection to show in the community, but you just "toggle" the item as "for sale" with price (&/or "make offer") and wait for a buyer. The Marketplace is currently in beta, with no listing or sales fees; I believe if/when it fully launches they are talking a low monthly subscription rate of like $5 or something (don't quote me on that because as I said it's free now and I have not officially heard what will happen after beta... I just mention so you know it won't be eBay pricing.)

OK, now I've babbled a lot lol So I'll stop now. But I'm happy to answer any other questions you might have -- or put you in contact with the right person, should I be ignorant ;)

Hi Kyle;

I am only a fairly minor collector of billheads and collect mainly manufacturing cos and by location. There is however still a fair quantity of elaborate and illustrated billheads around 1910 to 1930 in the UK selling for what you would consider good prices.I intend to post 10 or 15 good examples shortly. Keep in touch.

Regards, Martin

Thanks for the welcome, Kyle. Yes, I'm half of the Book Sales in America aka Book Sale Finder team. My husband and I love used book sales and that's what got us started. I've always been an ephemera aficionado.

Thanks, Kyle, for the welcome and glad you've enjoyed my blog. I've enjoyed yours as well. Work has kept me from contributing to this site, as well as my blogs, lately, but I'll be back soon. I was very active in genealogy research for about a decade, but have done little with it the last five years or so. You and others on the Ephemera Network will inspire me to get back to it. I like the way you have used ephemera to aid in your research. I'd like to use that angle more in my own research. Do you exhibit at, or attend, the Postcard shows or Book & Paper Shows around the state? We may have crossed paths recently in Houston or Austin.

Very Nice. Can you tell me the context in which appears and which World's Fair? Thanks.

Oh my gosh, 80,000!!!!! Where on earth did you get so many of them???? I just can't imagine. I like the kind that you see on www.paintedwhite.com if you check her portfolio page and then click on Blog page. All of those are the kind I like. The victorian women, children, animals, greeting cards--especially Christmas. Romantic scenes, some nice landscape scenes. I guess it would be easier for me to say what I don't like--ha ha. I will go and check out your website now. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the welcome! I'll keep an eye out for the authors you mentioned. Genealogy has been a big interest of mine for years so I need to join that group, too, and I'll probably see you over there.

You are too kind! I have several collections unmentioned as yet...I probably should have been a bit more organized before I came on board here. Looking forward to reading your board and blog!

Kyle....very nice to hear from you. I collect VTC's issued by Troy, NY merchants. I spent my first 10 years living in Troy, went to school there through high school, and now live just outside the city. I currently have cards from 183 different Troy merchants. When I got into this last year, I was stunned to learn how prolific these Troy merchants were. By contrast, the nearby city of Albany, the state capital, apparently saw far fewer of these cards issued.
