Hi Frank, thanks for the welcoming e-mail!
I'm glad you enjoyed looking around my website. I think the reason I don't collect anything past the 1970's is that from 1980 on I can actively remember living through that period. It seems that that takes the mystery away for me a bit! I was such a young girl in the 1970's that things from that era are not quite as familiar to me. I know you mentioned that you end your collection in a certain year too; what is that? I read your profile but didn't see it. Anyway, I'm looking at your holography website right now and find it fascinating! (I'm on the postcard section at the moment.) Thanks again.

Good Morning Frank...Thanks for the Welcome and the email.

I have little knowledge about what this postcard is that you mentioned...(holographic) or any of the other classifications I see. I have a large postcard collection that I inherited that I have been selling. Most are modern but there are also quite a few from the early 1900's that are foreign and belonged to a man who traveled the world I believe after World War 1. I am not a collector myself. I am only trying to find new homes for the cards that I have. They are listed in my booth under the Postcards-Antique category. Please take a look when you have time maybe you can advise me on how better to describe them.

Thanks, Frank. There is still relatively low awareness and, as a result, low demand for historic newspapers, so prices tend to be more affordable than other collectibles. It's perhaps the last great undiscovered collectible! :)

What's the name of the uncle in Helena? I've lived here for almost thirty years and might recognize the name.

Thanks for the welcome! In answer to your question, I put my art work on the original paper, using primarily colored pencils (which are colorfast) and transparent so the text can be seen where possible.

Are cancelled checks worth saving? We have LOTS of greeting cards, probably sellable - should they be arranged by date (lots of them are still in envelopes) or by occasion? Handwritten store receipts (i.e. Mont. Ward)? And if I were to list these somewhere, would they have to be individual? Is that the way to get the best deal? Or sell lots? Thanks for more info.

Thank you Frank. Wow. I have never done anything like this before, and no, I do not have a website. To give you an idea, though, we have two WWII ration books (with some stamps still intact), two 1936 SS booklets (how simple it all used to be!), and a Cardui Song Book #6 from the Chattanooga Medicine Co. Lots of greeting cards, letters, postcards, etc.

Thank you so much Frank! I've copied a few vintage pieces but haven't used anything yet. I'll let you know when I do, for sure. Love this site!

Hi Frank...Thank you for the welcome...I just cruised some of your articles posted on the net through Google...Very interesting and will be checking them again to better understand your part in collecting..Postcards are my thing along with vintage photographs selling...I now consider myself a International postcard seller since joining Delcampe.com. It opened up the world with orders coming from all parts of the globe..With the help of a automated translator I'm able to carry on a broken english conversation with all the new friends and penpals that I acquire through selling
