THE EPHEMERA NETWORK

A Community Site for Anyone and Everyone Interested in Ephemera

Today I was wandering around town and I found a second hand bookstore about 5 miles from my house. I stopped and went inside and started to look at the "antique" labeled section. The store owner then pleasantly came over and greeted me. He then asked if I was looking for anything specific. I said "no Im a ephemera collector but I've been known to collect books from time to time". The owner smiled and stated he had two boxes of 19th century Canadian Parliament sessional packets. The items were the loose leaf from a collection of record books that had passed through his shop. I then set a good price for each packet and went to town going through the boxes. I chose about 25 packets and paid for them. The store owner stated it was a good thing I had come in, due the fact he was going to throw the contents away. I then jumped at him and said "Dont do that please, Ill come back and buy more". The owner smiled and promised to hold the boxes till I could finish sorting through the boxes and research some dates and names. I left that store with a huge smile feeling the thrill of a unexpected hunt for paper....

What a lucky day! I could actually feel the excitement of finding these along with you. Glad you got a good price, too. That's the icing on the cake.
