THE EPHEMERA NETWORK

A Community Site for Anyone and Everyone Interested in Ephemera

This is my first blog post since becoming a member of T.E.N. I hope to add on a regular basis blog entries of interesting piece(s) of ephemera that I have in my collection, for sale or just recently purchased. So to get things rolling...

At a recent estate sale, I purchased for only $2.00 a package that contained 5 S&H Green Stamp books, 3 Top Value Books, 1 MacDonald Plaid Stamp Saver Book and another Top Value Stamp Book. All but the last book were filled with their respective saving stamps. But the last book was unused.

This was the book that stood out to me. It was a "Special Member Mouseketeer Club" Top Value Stamp Book. The front shows Mickey Mouse and the Toppie, the Top Value Stamps Plaid Elephant. At the top right is the Kroger Food Store Logo.

I also show the inside center pages of this booklet, and the text reads: "Boys and Girls! You can get these toys and many more gifts Free for Top Value Stamps. Fill your own stamp books...Get extra top value stamps with the Mouseketeer Club specials advertised on the Mouseketeer Club - KTVI-TV 6:00 P.M."

Some of the toys kids could receive by redeeming their Top Value Stamp books included Playskol duffle bag of colored blocks, Daisy Noise & Richochet Rifle, Aney-Gard Road Builders, Huffy Bicycle, Marx Train and Turnpike Set and much more.

KTVI-TV Channel 2 is located in St. Louis, MO. According to Wikopedia, this station moved to Channel 2 on April 15, 1957. There is no date in the booklet, but there is a pre-zipcode address given. So this booklet is from the time period of 1957-1962.

I hope you find this short article interesting. I hope to add more entries on a regular basis. I encourage other T.E.N. members to share their finds or items from their personal collection. Thank you and have a great week!

Boy do I remember Top Value and S&H Green stamps. It was my job to put them in the books and if any books were left over when my Mom went to the redemption store, I could get a toy.

Great buy! Thanks for scanning and sharing...
