Postcards are a Glorious Blast from the Past!

As postcard collectors and sellers we see lots and lots of postcards. We have lots and lots of postcards.........LOL. I'm in the process of trying to get our personal collection scanned and loaded to an album.........but in the meantime, we've revamped our Postcard categories on cemetarian, so that they are easier to find.

Here are my favorites. For some reason I prefer and collect these Linen Motor Courts. The colors and textures just appeal to me.

We personally collect our home town also...............there are about 3 that we know of that we haven't been able to get ahold of. LOL. We even have a 60's chrome, that has Darrell's Mother crossing the street. That was an amazing find. I'll try to get those loaded soon.

Wonderful postcards! I drive down Niagara Falls Boulevard here in the Falls and all the "strip-motels" or "no-tel motels" as we call them now, are just wasting away. Very few are being maintained, in the summer they all have cars in them so at least they are being used. "The Moonlight Motel" "Castle Motor Inn" "Pelican Motel" "Holiday Hotel" - These are just a few of the old timers still around. So many of these Motor Courts are gone, it is so nice to see interest in them.

One of our regular clients has a great collection of post cards and matchbooks along with coasters and other pieces of ephemera from the 1920s through current. He was born in the 1940s, his parents are were born in the Falls as well. It's always so interesting to see the items he and his family have collected over the many years.

We routinely use and copy some of his collection that do not have copyrights in our vintage art collages, shadowboxes and greeting cards. One of these days I will ask him if we can post some of his collection here.
