I'm off to Baltimore for a couple weeks and curious - any good ephemera spots? I actually lived there a couple years back (although only for a few months) but ephemera wasn't on my radar then so I am clueless!
Thanks in advance for the help.

Second only perhaps to the printing press itself, no other machine has created more ephemera than the typewriter. From personal correspondence to shipping and receiving -- and everything in between. Almost magically, the typewriter is making a comeback, even in this age of instant electronic communication. F…

Pete Seeger was in the news a week ago here in New York City. He, with many others performed or spoke at a memorial tribute for
Mary Travers of Peter, Paul & Mary fame. It took place at the Riverside Church in Harlem, which holds upwards of 2,000 people.
Seeger is of course an iconic singer/songwriter/activist who has dedicated his life to celebrating others through song, and I secured his autograph almost eight years ago to the day - twice when he appeared with Brooklyn poet…

I have a confession. I collect ephemera for two main reasons. First, I save 50's (and sometimes other) era invitations and note cards for possible future use. If I marry and breed, I've got some killer baby shower invites stored for use. It's reason enough to procreate, really. Secondly, I like to cut. A pair of Fiskars, ye olde X-acto, one of my razor-sharp fingernails...it matters not. I li…

The Wikipedia definition of Ephemera is "transitory written and printed matter" ... and that is what many of us, who have an interest in Ephemera focus on.
But backing up a step... we need to look at the source of much of that Ephemera... and a museum in North Andover, Massachusetts may well be the place to start.
The Museum o…

Today I was wandering around town and I found a second hand bookstore about 5 miles from my house. I stopped and went inside and started to look at the "antique" labeled section. The store owner then pleasantly came over and greeted me. He then asked if I was looking for anything specific. I said "no Im a ephemera collector but I've been known to collect books from time to time". The owner smiled and stated he had two boxes of 19th century Canadian Parliament sessional packets. The items were th…

This came with the property we moved into 5 years ago. Can someone point me in the right direction on having these
potentially appraised ? 300 plus prints and other snippets from about 60 + years ago ... and most likely the same
person put them togethor. I do not want to break this collection up ... nor do I want to sell it at an auction to have
broken up by a new owner. There is a enough in this collection to fill a small gallery - and the color quality of the prints
is amazing.
Thanks for you…

There aren't too many postcards available in the world today that contain a real 3D laser hologram. There are other
types of 3D postcards, such as lenticulars that have been around for decades. But postcards with holograms are a true rarity. Believe me, I look for them all the time (including postcard shows!). So,…
