About Me:
Beginning the morning of September 11, 2001 in New York City I embarked upon two ephemeral collecting projects documenting a lot of the reaction to the attacks, death and destruction that occurred that day.

One was a fourteen month collecting effort, while the second one lasted seven years with a focus on NYC area events which addressed aftermath issues, including the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Both encompass over 2,000 pieces and include no missing person fliers.

Since 1998, I have also collected ephemera associated with several political occasions in NYC, and gathered nearly 2000 autographs at public and private events I helped videotape for C-SPAN, Columbia University and other clients.

The photo associated with my name is from a Commemorative Fifth Anniversary of 9/11 exhibit of mine I am especially proud of. It took place at the Donald F. Tapley Faculty Club restaurant at Columbia University Medical Center. At it I showcased a lot of the 14 month aftermath archive - with binders on the tables that are full of fliers, and posters hung in the same chronological order I gathered them.

A website administered by the U.S. Library of Congress, and where you may check out over 900 images of the archive is below.

The now imprisoned Lynne Stewart

Since 2002, pundits in the U.S. news media have called her everything from an activist and radical lawyer to a terror moll and terror monger - while in news commentaries and articles, they have also suggested she “Play well…” and “Rot in Hell.” Of course, I’m talking about disbarred civil rights lawyer Lynne Stewart, who at the age of 70, surrendered to federal authorities here in New York City last Thursday (November 19, 2009) to begin a 28-month sentence for assisting terrorism. Free on… Continue

The time I met Pete Seeger

Pete Seeger was in the news a week ago here in New York City. He, with many others performed or spoke at a memorial tribute for Mary Travers of Peter, Paul & Mary fame. It took place at the Riverside Church in Harlem, which holds upwards of 2,000 people.

Seeger is of course an iconic singer/songwriter/activist who has dedicated his life to celebrating others through song, and I secured his autograph almost eight years ago to the day - twice when he appeared with Brooklyn poet… Continue

An invitation.

I recently posted the first images of pieces from my contemporary New York City-focus autographed and non-autographed paper ephemera collections on the site – some of which are related to the aftermath of 9/11 here. Check them out in the All Scrapbook section of TEN.

I also invite you to check out some of my writing and additional posting of images of from my collections elsewhere online.

My mostly C-SPAN autograph collection at:… Continue
