About Me:
well. lets see ............my childhood was mostly a good one( no...wait I guess i should save that for group therapy not this group :)

I started collecting postcards several years ago. Of course hometown cards were where I started which in my case would be Long Island NY. I quickly diversified into topical cards ..love some of the great art that was used on Halloween cards & renderings of beautiful women..Also interested in old sports related cards and World War 1 & 2. I find the written messages on the reverse as interesting as the fronts in some cases. I

I also collect old advertising calendars. As I'm in the promotional advertising business and started with Brown & Bigleow in 1977 , I guess I should have saved some of their samples..I do have some Elvgren pin up art and also Coca Cola calendars form 40's & 50's. I would describe myself as a collector/dealer as I recently started selling at local postcard shows. I belong to the Metropolitan postcard club of NY . I listed my website as I sell items that will eventually become the ephemera of the future and I know people get a kick out of all the "promo goodies" available

Welcome, Michael! I'm pretty new here myself and have found this group a very friendly place to share, learn, and develop ephemera interests. I can relate to your entry into postcard collecting as I also began my small collection with hometown cards. I've expanded that to include hometowns of a few ancestors of interest to me in genealogy research. Topical has an appeal as well, so no telling where the collection will go. I look forward to seeing samples of your collection.

Hello Michael, and welcome to the group. I loved reading your term "ephemera of the future". That how I feel about my own interests, lasers and holography. I'll probably be long gone before it becomes as popular as other topical areas of ephemera. I'm heading over to enjoy your web site.
