"W. F. Cody." One page, 8.5" x 11", Helena, Montana, August 5, 1914, on letterhead reading "The Col. W. F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) Historical Pictures Co. [Denver and Chicago]." Cody writes to W. C. Milne of Edmonton in bold ink, "I feel proud and flattered to receive the Edmonton Ad Club Membership Card. I will certainly have it framed. And treasured so that in years to come, my grand children can point at it with pride." The letter features in the left margin a large portrait of Cody with a laudatory printed description of his accomplishments and a proposed film project produced by the Essanay Film Manufacturing Company of Chicago. The paper is toned; some bleedthrough, likely due to very minor dampstaining. Minor holes at fold intersections and a small tear along the top edge. Estimate: $700-900. Included in Heritage Auctions April 8-9, 2011, Historical Manuscripts Auction #6054 in New York.
