I have been a classic/silent film buff for over 13 years now. For a while I was collecting film star photos A few of them are vintage. I have vintage photos of Mary Pickford & Douglas Fairbanks, Colleen Moore, Mary's third husband Buddy Rogers (he starred in "Wings"), and several of Kukla, Fran and Ollie (with puppeteer Burr Tillstrom). I've also got quite a few old books and magazines, and a few "rare" DVDs (don't ask, don't tell).
Anyway, just wanted to share my info & see if I could get something going in this group...

Hi Leslie, my selling specialty is actually movie cards and collectibles from the silent age through the 1950's or so. I handle and where appropriate catalog trading cards, tobacco cards, playing cards, supplements, premiums, promotional photos, fan photos plus also deal with vintage stills and just about anything I can get my hands on.

My favorites are typically the old supplement and premium photos because there's often not a lot of available info on them so I do my best to compile checklists and learn as much about them as possible.

My personal collection consists of the same type items, plus some lobby cards and movie photos of my favorite actor, Warren William.

Thanks, Cliff

Oh I love Warren William! He's my favorite pre-code bad guy! And you've got a really nice looking website. I'm going to bookmark to look at later.

Thanks, Leslie. Actually I have a few, including a Warren William site :) I don't do much on that one, but nobody else is doing anything for him, so I figured I might as well step in.

Thanks for trying to bring some life to this category!

I do have a small collection of movie star photo's that are signed. The best of them all is a Marilyn Monroe signed 8 x 10 photo.

I found a box full of "Box Office" magazines from the 1950's to the 1970's at a flea market. It was a trade magazine that targeted theater owners and operators. It contained ads for popcorn machines, projectors, and paper cups as well as ads from studios trying to sell theaters on their latest films. It's interesting that some of the movies featured are very well known hits and others probably never made it to the theaters.
