"Infomercial" Picture Posts

Is there a place in Picture Posts for Ephemera images posted with an informative (or personal view) narrative. I believe it makes the post more interesting and is particularly engaging where comparisons between US and European culture can be drawn.

Perhaps, in this increasingly cosmopolitan world, such observations are “nerdish”? At least, one could argue, such altruistic motives are more easily defended than straight commercial plugs.
