Hello!
I have a large collection of Postcards and would appreciate any advice on them. I am not a collector myself and so I don't know all the terminology used to describe them. Some are from the early 1900's and were sent by the same man as he traveled around the world after World War 1.

They can be viewed in my booth under Postcards-Antique,Vintage...

Hello all,
I am new to the group.
I love old post cards. I have just a few, but they are hard to photograph.
This is one of my favorite and oldest. It's dated 1906 with a 2 cents stamp.

I haven't considered myself a "postcard" collector, but as I now go through and document my collection of ephemera, I'm up to over 100 of them. Most are exhibit announcements, and so contain works of art. The artists are world-renowned in the field of holography. I don't know how many are still "out there". And I have no idea how to add to my collection (the ones that I have were sent to me directly). Also, they're from 1970 (or so) through 2000, when my collection ends. So they're not that "vintage" as other postcards that are collected. But I imagine that (1) most have been thrown out over the years, and (2) since they were printed for such a small, emerging field of art and science, their numbers were limited to begin with.

Cool - it's 10:56 here - was having trouble w/the 'puter but fixed it and I'll post a pic Saturday! Thanks Rita and Frank - I'm enjoying collecting, including "collecting" some newfound friends, lol!

I'm late to this party........LOL. But I know what you are talking about. Can you show us a picture of it. It might be a bit earlier. I know that in the early 50's, my grandmother had and OLD weather forecaster that was an Indian Brave whose loin cloth had the litmus paper that turned colors as the weather changed. it was from the 30's.......so that technology was around way back then.............so show us the card.......it might be older..........just a thought!

I most certainly will, MadamB. In fact, I'm pondering a trip to the Lancaster area this very day today, but I'm not sure if I'll wind up going N, S, E, or West (one of those days). I have a memory like a steel trap, so if and when I ever see these "out there" I'll be sure to pick a few up for you (providing that they still work).
