"Help! I have a handful of negatives that are very dirty/dusty, guessing from the 1950's. Can I wash them with plain water and let dry?
Also, any suggestions on how to store photos is appreciated. Thank you "

You can clean the negative on the one side only. If you clean the other side you may scratch the surface. I store my glass negatives flat in a clean dry area using bubble wrap.

Looking for Old Family Photos? Tell us who you're searching for and maybe we can help. Wouldn't it be nice to find out the names of those unknown people in your grandparent's photo album? Are they family? Or are they photos found in an antique store? They are definitely someones family!
Here's a way to find the family of those lost folks. Find a photo or share a photo that you have with the list.

You can even post it in the "photos" section or on the Archive http://www.deadfred.com

I find this to be a fun group for those who love old photography and whant to find out more....

I love the Bob Bailey Photo! My favorite are the old children photos like this one. They are just amazing!

Here's a nice find, rescued from a Salvation Army shop, of a large photo by well-known Houston photographer, Bob Bailey. The Bob Bailey Studio chronicled much of what went on in Houston from the 1930s to the 1990s. A good chunk of Bailey's work now resides in the Center for American History in the University of Texas archives. I don't know who the man in the photo is, though he does have a celebrity look about him. Perhaps an actor from the 1930s-40s? Can't place the face. Maybe just a local businessman.

I have sold 100's of Post Mortem photos and Civil War Photo's over the years on the GOOD OLD Auction site-- I had many that sold for well over $500.00.
But I only started them at $9.99--If its a Rare Photo- The collectors will never let them go at a low price--Thanks Goodness For Me!!!
I also Have many CDV's I list all the time with tax stamps- they sell very well also. I listed some circus side show freaks over a month ago and sold most of them. I have a Cabinet photo ofr a circus proformer that also has a Dwarf on the backside of the same photo.

Anyone collect post mortem photos, I know, kind of strange, but....

I've recently been collecting CDV images with civil war era revenue stamps, also interested in CDV and cabinet card images of medical or carnival oddities (not much on the market and when there is the price is fairly high).
