Hello, I just joined as well. I am looking for "fur company" related ephemera... "fur companies" that purchased furs, hides, pelts, etc from trappers. Specifically, I am looking for Trap Supply Catalogs, Fur Price Sheets, Fur Shipping Tags, Fur Co. Invoices, Fur Co. business cards, envelopes, stationary, advertising inserts... anything with "fur company" names printed on it!!!

Thanks, Dann

Collectors... Look for my newest scrapbook which shows images of four brochures I recently acquired and are being handed out by Christians claiming the end of the world is May 21, 2011.

Too bad, because although it isn’t always easy… and fair, I am mostly enjoying my time as a human being on Earth and as a member of the working class in the U.S. And collecting.

Plus, I was looking forward to seeing how fliers, posters, etc. from my 9/11 aftermath paper ephemera collection were going to be used in the permanent showcases at the future 9/11 Museum, set to open on September 11, 2012. But since I'll be dead, I won't be able to. :(

A short video has been posted on YouTube about the Ephemera Society of America's 30th Annual Conference and Paper Show. And snippets from a practice slide presentation of mine about my New York City area seven year 9/11 aftermath and U.S. Invasion of Iraq-related paper ephemera and autograph collection were included in it.

Collectors... sadly, historian and activist Howard Zinn died on Wednesday (January 27, 2010) out in California. He was 87.

Also the author of A People's History of the United States, I got to meet and obtain the autograph of the radical historian three times - at two separate occasions he participated in when he visited New York City in 2003 and 2006. I also collected ephemera passed out at the events. Check out images of them in my new scrapbook titled, The Howard Zinn Collection.

Finally, in a recent online article I found about his so-called "radical" life, it reads: "Think of what this country would have been like if those ordinary people had never bothered to fight and sometimes die for what they believed in. Mr. Zinn refers to them as “the people who have given this country whatever liberty and democracy we have.” Our tendency is to give these true American heroes short shrift, just as we gave Howard Zinn short shrift. In the nitwit era that we’re living through now, it’s fashionable, for example, to bad-mouth labor unions and feminists even as workers throughout the land are treated like so much trash and the culture is so riddled with sexism that most people don’t even notice it. (There’s a restaurant chain called “Hooters,” for crying out loud.)"

Check out the images of pamphlets, brochures and other ephemera I recently added to my 2004 Republican National Convention-related scrapbook. Just go to the All Images section of TEN.

Collectors, check out my first-ever postings of ephemera on TEN - some of the materials (including brochures) I collected associated with the 2004 Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden.

Go to the ALL SCRAPBOOKS page of TEN.
