I invite you to check out a unique yet contemporary ephemera and autograph collection of mine - something I posted online elsewhere as a tribute to NBA Washington Wizards sports team owner and philanthropist Abe Pollin. He died last month in Washington D.C., the city he and his family loved and have tried to improve with their money for years. I got to see Abe and his wife Irene in action in New York City a few times, and documented on paper and with autographs the first seven Pollin Prize in Pediatric Research symposiums and award ceremonies - just one of the family's many philanthropic projects.

Check it out at:

...and tell others about it when you can.

Check out my latest posts in the All Images section of TEN. They are of another individual who is presently in the news media spotlight - Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, who was on Capital Hill yesterday to take a grilling during the roughly five-hour hearing by the Senate Banking Committee. He is seeking a second four-year term.

(Personal note: I hope they asked him if the government really knows how to create new working class jobs - other than those associated with wars.)

Anyway, I got to cover Bernanke on a C-SPAN video job the evening of October 15, 2007 when he addressed a Hilton New York ballroom crowd of several hundred rich folks at an Economic Club of New York dinner. I met him and secured his autograph on an official program after his speech and Q&A.

Accompanying the Bernanke-autographed item are the images of a copy of the media release announcing his talk, and a second program signed by then chairman of the Economic Club of New York, Barbara Franklin. Presently chairman emerita of the Economic Club of New York and the President and CEO of her own investment firm, Franklin has also served as the 29th U.S. Secretary of Commerce under President George H.W. Bush. Enjoy.

Collectors, check out the first images of some of my in-person NYC event-specific autograph collecting efforts - in the All Scrapbooks section of TEN.

They are of New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly who is said to be considering staying on as commissioner for the third Mayoral term of Mike Bloomberg.

He has quite a work history, and has done a lot to help keep NYC safe after 9/11/01. Check him out online.

FYI: It was recently reported that Republican Billionaire Bloomberg spent $102 million during his campaign, plus whatever he spent prior... to change the rules that he could seek a third consecutive term.
